My Story

Hi!

My journey to starting this business began thirty years ago when I first wanted to make my children’s birthday cakes. While my early attempts were certainly not Bake Off showstoppers, I loved watching my children’s faces light up as they got to see that year’s offering. Over the years I’ve gradually refined my skills and techniques in the kitchen and as a result my family’s cakes have become more and more elaborate!

In recent years , my business has evolved and I now specialise in fondant covered wedding cakes with handmade sugar flowers and foliage, although I still bake the occasional celebration cake. From birthdays and weddings to parties and major milestones, I love making cakes because they often play a significant part in our most treasured memories with family and friends. For me, nothing beats the feeling of seeing people’s expressions when you present them with the cake of their dreams.

Heidi made a cake for my friends 30th. Not only did it look amazing it was the most delicious cake I think Iv ever had! I gave Heidi the Colour scheme of the party and a cake design and she made it exactly how we imagined. Honestly was so delicious, some beautiful cakes are so dry but this was all round amazing. I just wanted to email from both Tom and myself a huge thankyou for the most amazing wedding cake EVER!! And for coming to set it up. We had so many people comment on how delicious it was especially the hazelnut praline one!! It also looked absolutely stunning! We had just the best day, just so sad it’s all over now but I have some cake left which I’ll be eating this week haha!!

“I have been fortunate to have been on the receiving end of many of Heidi’s amazing cakes & treats. She is able to turn her hand to very creative & delicious multi layered cakes for any birthday cake theme that her customers’ request, from Elvis to Harry Potter!

When Heidi said she had made some macaroons, I doubted that they could beat the famous Laduree macaroons that I’d once tasted in Paris. I was wrong! Heidi’s macaroons were the lightest, creamiest & tastiest I’d ever had!

What I think is key to Heidi’s amazing creations is how much she loves what she does and how much she enjoys creating these masterpieces. She sources the best ingredients and baking utensils and equipment & is well known for working to the early hours of the morning to ensure that her cakes are timed and baked to perfection. This passion and dedication results in delicious baked treats every time!”

When we first spoke to Heidi about our wedding cake, the only detail that was fixed for the day was the location by the sea. Heidi took that detail and created not just a cake, but an artwork! To this day, we can say that we have never seen such a stunning wedding cake – and it was absolutely delicious, meaning it was eaten in what must have been record speed. Heidi is a magician when it comes to baking, and we could not recommend her enough!
